My Work
“Where do I go from here?” For my characters, it can mean anything from a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to a heartbreaking decision that threatens their entire future.
My stories are character-driven and focus on how they manage what gets thrown at them. Disappointing relationships. Family drama. Shattered dreams. Missed chances. Life has not turned out the way they expected or hoped.
Where do they go from there?
Those are the stories I write.
I’m proud that my short story, “School Zone,” is included in Road Signs: A Short Story Anthology. This anthology is published by The Network of Writers & Artists (NOWA).
“School Zone” is part Twilight Zone, part Louis Sacher’s Wayside School. Crazy things seem to happen at Edgar Allan Poe High School! Ms. Marsh is a burned-out school nurse, counting the days until retirement, when a strange phenomenon hits the campus. Students start flooding into her office, literally vomiting their deepest, darkest secrets. She must somehow stop this epidemic before outside forces manage to harness it for their own nefarious purposes.
I’m grateful to be included with the diverse voices of J.R. Bale, Geneva Broussard, Michael Stephen Daigle, Melanie Davis, Susen Edwards, Lynn Eisenhauer, Vivian Fransen, Pamela Hegarty, Eric Kemelis, Tom Kranz, Nev March, Elissa Matthews, Graham Matthews, M. C. Olmsted, Michael Penncavage, and Kathleen Schumar.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing cultural icons, industry innovators, and everyday people with extraordinary stories.
I’ve profiled celebrities (Betty White, Julia Child, and Charlton Heston, among others) and written features on everything from the emerging use of artificial body parts to the rise of hate groups in America. Some publications featuring my pieces include:
Bechtel Briefs
Business Digest (published by Pacific Bell)
Chevron World
The Cook’s Magazine
Delta Sky
Good Times
Los Angeles Magazine
Ms. Magazine
Outlook (published by the California Society of CPAs)
Pittsburgh Business Times
Pittsburgh Magazine

In addition to my nonfiction work, my short stories have been published in Goldfinch as well as the Road Signs anthology.
